Priya’s Story

My inspiration to help Vaani comes from my childhood in Marathi School, where I discovered that words are more than just entertainment—they carry stories, wisdom, and culture across generations. That early bond with language sparked a lifelong passion to preserve our linguistic heritage in the digital age.

Over two decades at Google and Microsoft, I led initiatives at the intersection of AI, productivity, and consumer delight. My career has always been about uniting technical innovation with human-centered design, making complex tools simple, joyful, and meaningful.

As Vaani’s advisor, I’m channeling this experience into a deeply personal mission: keeping the joy of Indian languages—Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit, Tamil, and beyond—alive for future generations. Raising multilingual kids in the U.S. over the past 15+ years was hard. Finding the right format, curriculum, and teacher often felt impossible, and having the discipline to teach them myself was even harder. That’s why I’m so excited about Vaani: it promises that language isn’t just about words — it’s culture, identity, and connection.

Yes, language is not just a tool but an invisible thread that ties us to our roots, our stories, and one another. Through Vaani, I’m committed to strengthening that thread—one word, one story, one child at a time.
